The West County Forum is looking forward to having the always vibrant Kristin Connelly as our May guest speaker. She holds various hats in her elected position as the Contra Costa County Clerk Recorder and Registrar. Not only does she have the privilege of officiating marriages, but she also oversees our very precious elections, in addition to her many other responsibilities. Connelly will share updates about her office and information about safeguarding efforts for our voting process.

In April, the Forum heard from Richmond Mayor Eduardo Martinez. He discussed plans to increase jobs and revenue generation at the Port, offshore energy goals, and efforts to uplift diverse communities. The city of Richmond also recently partnered with the Richmond Chamber of Commerce to promote local businesses through a “Best of Richmond” contest with the aim of celebrating local businesses and encouraging local shopping.

The West County Forum is looking forward to having Richmond Mayor Eduardo Martinez as our guest speaker on April 11th. Mayor Martinez will give us updates about what has been going on in the city of Richmond as well as future plans. There is always a lot going on in Richmond, so we expect this to be a very informative presentation.

In March, The West County Forum was privileged to hear from guest speaker Zee Handoush, owner of 7 Stars Holistic Healing in Richmond. Zee gave us a wonderful, interesting, and engaging presentation. He shared about his upbringing and the path which got him to where he is today. Zee also discussed the benefits and challenges of owning a dispensary. He cares deeply about the community and helping people heal, especially when it can be with a plant versus a pill.
